wiper assembly
hey guys the first day of snow i turned on my car with the wipers still being on and since they were frozen they coudnt move anywhere then all i heard is a loud noise it sounded liek either something came out of place HARD or something broke any idea on wat it could be or how much it would cost to fix

Your wiper motor linkage probably popped off/broke. You have to undo all the clips from your windshield cowl to get to the motor. From there, you'll see a linkage arm that connects the 2 wiper arms... it'll probably be hanging off of 1 wiper arm or completely off of both.
Even if you think you can get it back on, it's probably best to go out and order a new one because the eye joints are plastic and are going to be worn out. If you get it on there, it's only a matter of time before it comes loose again... usually at the worst possible time. The arm is like $25 from Acura, when you buy it, it comes pre-greased and ready to pop on for an easy install. |
oh ok i see thanks man wat about if the motor is burnt out how much would that cost to replace

vincetec is right about linkage. I had this problem your problem last week. If you can move the wipers by hand easily, that means it is probably your linkage. I had the white plastic eye joints worn out. Vincetec even gave you the price from acura, but I needed my wipers to work right away, so I got an assembly from a junk yard on saturday afternoon. It cost me 40 for the assembly without the motor. If you want the motor, I know some shop that will sell it cheap because I took the assembly. =)
