will the tranny fit?
Can i take a tranny from a 95 DC and put it into a 93 DA? straight bolt in or is it different?
iv got a b18a in mine and im taking my buddys out of his b18B i believe it is...:S |
It will bolt up to your engine yes. But the b18b that come from the 95 are hydro trannies and your tranny is a cable so you would need to convert all that for it to work.
|
how much work would that take? i can take everything off the DC and put it on my DA to convert it?
also how long do you think an experienced person would take to do this swap? |
dont convert. so many parts. so much time. so much labor. just buy a cable trans.
|
^^^ ya I agree it not just an easy swap some people will say it is but it's not. I also wouldnt tackle the job.
|
the clutch thing can be done quite easily, the problem is, DAs had a solid cable running to the cluster for vehicle speed, where as DC used a sensor on the transmission. Thus your cluster would not read how fast you're going, and i believe it will throw a code. [My old 92 rs did].
What is wrong with your transmission? I believe the gear sets are identical in size, so you could just swap the guts over keeping the cable case but fresh guts. |
yes but rebuilt tranny is not as reliable as a stock tranny, and im not 100% sure whats wrong with my tranny, havent gotten it looked at, or even jacked it up to see just going by what iv read on google from ppl who have done the same things as me, smashed a bump then smelt a burning like smell and the noises i have broken ----, so i figured it would be cheaper to just but another tranny and swap
|
i have 2 cable trannys sitting in my garage. i'll sell you one cheap. one came out of my good car when i did the swap and the other came out of my parts car. LMK.
