wheel stud install??
 

Stupid bastids at tire world in brampton snapped it on the frt driver side. Now I want to know if I have to push the bearing out so there is clearance or just remove the heat shield and I would be fine??

I had to push out the bearing to get the stud in.

What I did with my ITR setup was take off the rotor, then dremil down the metal behind the spindle a bit on one side enough for a bolt to slip out. Then you just turn the spindle and the rest come out one by one. Hope that helps. Mind you I don't run a heat shield on my front brakes and the part I ground down was near where the heatshield mounted. If you're in love with your heatshield then you might want to try something else. I heard the cooling is better with out it so off it went, but can't say I've noticed a difference but ITR brakes on a CRX is a little overkill anyway.

miles, (i think thats your name) does removing your heat sheilds affect your braking in rainy/snowy conditions? mines is rubbing against my rotor and i wanna remove it -- just scared the extra water/snow/mud between the rotor and pad will mess with my braking abilities.

Yeah, it's Miles. :) For the most part i "believe" there are several reasons for having a heat shield. It may help disapate heat but I'm not entirely convinced that's true. It keeps stupid mechanics from accidentally touching a hot rotor - which who really cares? But for the most part I believe it's there to keep dirt and debris front hitting the rotor as you drive. For the last point, I personally can't see anything sticking to the rotor as you drive. That thing spins stupid, stupid fast. I've taken it off two of my cars and been running without them for about 3-4 years each. Can't honestly say there's a difference or if there is an increased chance of damaging the rotor - all I can honestly say is it's had no noticable effect on performance or reliability. If you talk to any of the HADA boyz you'll find most of us have taken ours off either to let more air travel around the rotor or to install ducting. If yours are rubbing, either just ignore it, rip it off or try just bending it back away from the rotor and see if that helps.

Boosted: As long as you don't dremil out the mounting holes for the heatshield, it should just bolt back in place.

thats what i did to mine to put in my extended studs
