What's that white plastic container near front passenger wheel well?? HELP NEEDED!

I was working under the hood near the front passenger wheel well area. Just beneath the splash guard cover near the furthest outside retaining screw for the front bumper, there's a white plastic container of some sort. I traced the tube connected to it and it leads to the air filter. Do you guys know what this container is?

I am asking because I noticed there's a huge crack/hole in this container. The hole is at the joint where a big bolt was supposed to hold this container to the chassis. Right now its supported by the splash guard. There is no liquid in this container. Just want to know what this container is and if I need to get this fixed ASAP.

I checked all my fluid levels and they seem to be OK. As well my engine temperature is normal. So I have no clue what this plastic container is, but I certainly hope its not critical...

Nope, it's just the resonator for your intake.

Basically it keeps ---- quiet.

Ya, that's the one. So its OK if there's a hole in it? OK if water/snow gets in?

The crack is somewhere around where this bolt attaches to the container.

Thanks Trenell!

It's not important. Anyone with an aftermarket intake dump those things. Even if it's cracked I woudn't worry about it. My brother replaced his with dryer hosing to get more air into the motor. That was 3 years ago. It makes a lot more noise, but he likes it. I read some thread somewhere where solo2 guys in the states were drilling huge holes in them and not claiming mods to the intake.

I was wondering what that was too today
