Whats the trick with stuck spark plugs?

So ive tried replacing spark plug on two different cars..and theres always one thats STUCK.
It turns slowly, with resistance...but im scared to keep turning it because im afraid ill strip it out. Whats the trick with this guys? ive done it with the car hot AND cold, with the same results. im misfiring in the cylinder i didnt change the plug in, so im gonna have to get it out somehow. Final question: When the plug is moving slowly and with resistance and makign weird noises when turning..Do you keep turning??

try some wd40 or putting some drips of motor oil down into the hole and slowly turn back and forth to work the oil in then just take it out

hopfully its not cross threaded but i doubt it..:|

so usually the turning back and forth works?

irsdb7 04-10-2010 08:50 PM

usually... with some oil

Yeah just go back and forth with it, and it will come, and WD40 is ----, it's half water. Get a good penetrating oil, like krown, the shuff will unstick a door the can;t open.

edit - oh found it at crappy tire but damn $7.99

- more researching...

Liquid Wrench and KROIL seems to be really good too
and what seems to best best of all
is a 50/50 mix of of acetone and ATF ( auto transmission fluid)
i gotta try that one^

yeah my plugs made some noise i have to admit i was shook taking them out i even tightened one and took it out and tightened it again cause it made noise when tightening

i think the noise is from dirt and grime grinding along the threads of the plug as it tightens my plugs were in real tite but with a little persitance and using my stregnth slowly and gradually worked i put in those platinum rainbow ngk plugs and all i gotta say is meh dunno if they r worth the xtra money
