what shocks to mate with tein springs?
im getting tein springs (1.5" drop) for my 99 integra SE... and was curious as to what shocks you recommend for them?? im looking to spend around $450 tax in im hoping
and i drive like prob 40,000 kms a year and through bumpy back country roads so just to keep in mind i will put a lot of use on em and im in back roads a lot... what you guys think... thanks Mike |
Are you asking what shocks you can buy for 450?
In that price range you can get AGX's if youre lucky...but Tokicko blues are probably in your price range. |
how much are tokico blues?? and would they be a good fit for the springs??
and yes im wondering what i can buy for $450 that will be good for those springs... i'd even go up to 500 or a lil more if its worth the jump in price... |
blues wont be good enough for you, you'll end up blowing them in a month....your best bet is to save a couple hundred, and get h&r yellows...about 6 bills or so...

If you can get Yellows for 650... go with them.... I paid 600 for Illuminas and they handled Teins newer springs which are over 2 in the front, and 1.5 in the rear.
|
ebay.. i've seen yellows on average for about 650-700 CAD. neuspeed and sport versions...
|
^^ Consider shipping as well, on top of that 700 CAD. I picked mine up for $800, tax in.
mkralj - if your car is just a daily, consider the Tokico Illuminas or the KYB AGX. If you have the cash, then go for the Koni Sport (yellows). |
at teh very lowest end of hte spectrum get kyb agx's, take it from me kyb gr2s/tokico blues are crappy... at least get an adujustable shocks
|
Mike, don't you have GR2's with your prokit? I'm sure it's alot better than riding on blown shocks (like me).
I'm also looking into getting new shocks and springs. Was gonna go Omni but it's not adjustable is it? Then thought about Teins and it's too much that I won't use. |
^^ yeap gr2s and prokits.
which i figured would be fine since the prokits are as mild as possible when it comes to aftermarket lowering springs. thing is in time springs sag a bit hence lowering the ride plus the prokits are soft springs in general, thus requiring a stiffer shock imo for a better ride. id tell anyone considering the nonadjustable aftermarket shocks to pay the extra 150 and get an entry level adjustable set, like the agx's/illumina's. |
alrite im gonna read up on the agx / illuminas... since mine is only going to be for a daily driver and nothing else... im gonna take suggestion from engsr and others and look into those... anyone have any hookups for getting either of these ??
