What else should I look for?

Hey all,

Gonna do my brake pads on my 94 RS some time this week but just was wondering, while I have the wheels off and all, anything else I should really check out? And how? Like I want to check out my tie-rods and ball joints if I possibly can but don't know how to ...

Lately I've noticed my rear passenger wheel wobbles a lot so I don't know what could cause that .. car is lowered on coil overs so it's normally a little rocky for me but after a few bad bumps and pot-holes the other night that rear tire seems to wobble a lot, not all the time but here and there.

Hope it isn't something too serious :(

Thanks in advance guys!

check the CV boot..damn i din even notice mine was rippied..check the boot for wearing and cracking.

cv boot for any rips or leaks

rotors, if they are warped

brake lines for any leaks

re-adjust your parking brake

air pressure in tires 32-35psi

properly tighten down lugs when done

Ok, everything went smoothly for my brakes and all but now I have a little bit of a problem ...

My new pads seem to be constantly gripping now .. like if I let off the gas it's almost as though I'm braking when I'm not. Not only that, it seems to be picking up slower, like I'm trying to accelerate while pressing the brake slightly even though I've only got my foot on the gas. Stopping power is amazing now, when I slam on the brakes they instantly will lock up .. but every time I tried that I smelt something burning afterwards .. I shoulda known things were going TOO smoothly! :nonono: :jeez:

Did you lube the sliders before putting the calipers back on?

Platinum Playa 10-04-2005 02:34 PM

thats happened to me too, i did my barkes on saturday, the burning smell goes away after a whiile...and i have the same prob as u..my car feels slow

must be sliders... lube them up they might be seized...i changed my pads and rotors last week and found that i had a slider on each side that was siezed. luckily i had the brakets from my parts car and didn't have to worry about pulling the siezed sliders out of my caliper mount brackets
