Type R spoiler??

Hey guys, I have a 1999 Integra GSR. I bought a Type r spoiler (used) from --------. Dropped it off for Jay Team Rukus to install it, got a call later on today and Jay told me the spoiler does not line up properly on the hatch of the car.

My car has original Honda hatch with Low led spoiler on it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is the whole hatch required from a Type R?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Travis

maybe its a 4 door itr spoiler...3 door type r spoiler should bolt right up, just have a hole on the left side where the wiring for the led low spoler goes through

yea i bought one from -------- last year and it turned out to be a the 4-dr itr spoiler which didnt line up with my stock holes at all. but before i got around to exchanging it, i had it painted the same day i bought it so there wasn't much use. the spoilers should be checked before they're sold to avoid hassle.

lol same situation here guys. The spoiler has already been painted. They went to put it on. And it does not line up. :(

Also about the hole for the wiring? with the dc2 type r spoiler on, is the hole visable? anyway to patch it? or should I just replace the whole hatch?

That hole is half visible. I've seen some guys get a plug of some sort or use tape. I think changing the whole hatch is overkill.

funny when i bought an R spoiler i coudnt wait i just had to install it to see how it looks n it bolt right in. then got it painted by team ruckus aswell .guess i was lucky i had no idea 4 dr R spoiler woudnt bolt in right ,but then i guess u could just drill a hole then itll bolt right in .

lol tru.

Well I didn't have the car to test fit the spoiler on, as Jay has had the car for almost a month getting some work done on it. I picked up the spoiler and just dropped it off for him to Paint, as I was assured it was the proper spoiler for my car. :(

Unless you really want the window mounted third brakelight. Mine doesn't have mounts for one. So I run with strictcly the two tail brakelights.

you can pick up little plastic plugs from canadian tire or even napa autoparts. i used a little bit of silicone around the plug for a snug fit. but before I did that, I also painted the plugs to somewhat match the car. Doesn't look too bad.

hmmm good advise. Im going to go see the car tomorrow. So i'll actually the issue for myself.

Will takes some pics.

i suggest doing what clockwerk did, he got the plugs and painted them and they are barley noticable.

I'm gonna suggest what fuzzy did and suggest what clockwerk did.

costs way too much. i got quoted $600 last year to do that. Plus it's safer to use the existing holes too.
