Transmission Swap

So I need a new tranny. Im not sure what the best one would be. I have a
B18B engine and Im not sure if I should get a stock tranny for a B18B or a B16 tranny. I hear the B16 tranny have a low top speed but good acceleration. What do you guys think would be better? Also are all B18B engines OBD1? they dont come OBD0 right?

or maybe a B20A tranny? will that work?

no no dont get b20. manual b20 transmission is AWD

get b16 transmission and be happier with your car. Makes it night and day comparing to ls transmission

or a gsr tranny. shorter gears than the ls tranny but not as short as the b16 but could be an option also

The b16 (SiR) transmission does have a lower top-speed, but you'll never get to it.

I've had mine with a b16 up to 230kph with 1000rpm left in 5th gear... and it wasn't done yet...lol.

SiR or GSR are great alternative transmissions if you want better acceleration.

Type r.... Love the tranny but kills you on gas.

The stock ls trannies are great if you are not looking for major performance as well better for gas milage.

But good trannies would be a gsr sir or type r but sir and type r almost identical.

ok B16 it is, how much are one of these worth? also will I have to get a new shift linkage or does the B18B and B16 have the same linkage?

no the b16 is straight bolt on.

Price anywhere from 500-900 depending where you buy
