Transmission fluid

hey guys just wondering how often is best to change you transmission fluid, and what to use. I can get my hands on royal purple MTF cheap. I've also heard that you can use 10w30 or another kind of oil in your tranny. I also hear good things about redline MTF. WHAT DO I GO WITH? any feed back would be great.... and is it hard to install a magnetic tranny plug? i drive a 2000 gs 5spd if that helps?

thanks

GM synchromesh cured my third gear grind, but it's back after a 1 year so it might be time to change it again. These stuff are amazing though

that is a myth that you hear about the regular oil thing, you can, but why would you, get genuine HONDA MTF, thats what i have and it works well because the guys at Honda say so, tranny plug is easy to install you needget it up in the air so you can get under her, but real easy

I don't know if this is a myth or not either but Honda runs their motor tests using Petro engine oil and Tranny fluid, which results in Honda packaging Petros oil and fluid under a new name HONDA MTF.

Again i don't know if this is the truth it has been discussed on some other sites.

I am going to try GM synchromesh though, i have heard nothing but positive reviews on it. One Negative being that it breaks down quicker so more frequent tranny fluid changes are neccessary.

^I heard the GM syncromesh is good if you have grinds but bad if you don't.
