tire sizes

how bad would it be to run 195/45/R15 tires on an integra??

i know it will throw off my speedometer...
like at 30 mph it will be 28.3 mph actually
and at 90 mph it will be 84.9 mph actually

other than my speedometer showing me going faster than i am (which may be good cuz i wont speed as much)

anything bad about going this profile for the tire?? for some reason i never though that size was even produced :S

I think it would be horrible. Your messing with load capacity.

The lowest I would go is 195/50/15

Smartass knows more about this than me though

yeah thats what i was thinking too... maybe i'll still get what i plan to get and replace the tires... cuz that side wall is like 1" less than my current sidewall... and probably wont be a comfortable ride... so 2" total less in diameter :| it was a good deal too...

Trenell hit on the load capacity issue, so make sure you're in ok there.

Short tires = short gearing: helps acceleration, throws off the speedo, and lowers your fuel economy. You also get a harsher ride (shorter, stiffer sidewall) and all the other pitfalls of a stiff low-profile tire (tramlining etc.)

I personally like the idea of a 195/45/15 tire for a high performance street setup, but you have to be getting a high performance tire. A Kumho 712 in that size isn't worth it.....a Toyo T1-R is.

don't go that skinny. rubberbands are out.

for 15x6-6.5, go 195-50, for 15x7, 205-50.

ok thanks i decided not on getting them then... when i heard the size on the tires i didnt like the idea of the smaller, stiffer sidewall... and this just reaffirms me not wanting it...

thanks for the help... i really appreciate it and wont be getting those blades...
