tire size...

anyone here ran with 205/40/R16 instead of 205/45/R16??
any complaints or issues?
i kno its gonna spin like 3 km/h faster then the speedo and its a risk for the rims cuz its a slightly shorter sidewall...
is there anythin im missin?

thanx

I have and I think DOOD does - you have to have a slammed car but when you do it looks alot better.

Be careful of bumps since there isn't much rubber between the ground and the rim. Performance wise, you'll get improved gearing with the lower profile, though only marginally since the rim is still fairly big. If you went to a 13 with 40 series tire then you'll see much more noticeable gearing improvement. For driveability I'd tend to lean towards the higher profile and protect my rims a bit better. But it's up to you.

found a wicked deal for 40s...
alredy bought 2 45s and i need 2 more...so i rather jus sell the 45s and get the 40s as a set...

No problems whatsoever - rides as if you are driving on 17's with low pros.
