tire plug kits.

i found a screw in the tire and plugged it with a tire repair kit. i was kinda pissed when i had to do it as the tire was less than a 4 months old (toyo proxes4) and i don't want to buy another one. it's holding air fine after 2 days and i've had tires plugged by garages before, but eventually replaced the tire.

i used a victor repair kit from canadian tire and followed the directions on the back of the package, playing close attention to where it says to turn the rasp only in one direction when cleaning the puncture.

on the package it says "for emergency tire repairs only". how long can it really last for?

plugs are definitely temporary. you should have patched it from the inside.

i've done tire plugs many times, havent had any problems on any of my cars. of course a patch on the inside is definately better, but imo daily driving should be no problem.

i have a plug in my tire for about a year now, i got a screw like two weeks after i got my tires. it's still holding to this day. also, my neighbour's car had a nail in the tire, that's still holding air fine for about 8 months now.

as long as your not tracking the car where the heat changes i doubt it should matter. i've had my patched before, but on the inside, but since they were getting bald. i just burned them out on the beater
