Tilt Sensor
Has anyone ever installed a tilt sensor (DEI 507T) to a Compustar alarm? The tilt sensor uses 3 wires and I was wondering if you connect these wires by splicing them? Or is there a terminal like connection to plug in?
Also, if anyone has experience with this product, how do you like it? Are there any false alarms? |
I have it, I'm not sure how they installed it, because I had it professionally done. Same DEI tilt installed with a compustar alarm.
I've had a couple false alarms when parked on a really steep hill and the battery is dead, other than that it works well. |
i'm debating about picking this puppy up, i forgot where i read how to install it, since the compustar does have other accessories attachment
hey wildout, do you recieve a different nottice when it tilts, or is it still the same 1st stage, 2nd stage nottice you get from the shock sensor |
There is no first stage with it, it goes straight to full alarm.
Just as it should if someone's jacking my rims or more important towing my car. |
No tilt sensor, but I did have a microwave sensor hooked up to mine. First stage triggered a warning chirp, second stage triggered the alarm.

Kromer Radio I believe, again I'd have to search for the receipt to be 100% accurate.

If I could remember correctly, when I installed my digital tilt there were three wires: constant 12v (red), ground when armed (orange or black), and instant trigger (blue). I don't think there is a "tilt" icon on the compustar... but I could be wrong. But you can wire up the trigger (blue) to either the hood pin, trunk pin, or any other instant trigger inputs on the alarm. The ground when armed wire can be taken off the wire going to the starter kill relay. Sorry, don't remember the compustar wire colours. Hope this helps a bit.

K, I got it from Kromer Radio Downtown on Bathurst, near Bloor.
