throttle cable sticking?
i installed a brand new throttle cable recently, and ever since it's been sticking like crazy. the rpms would stay around 2,000 - 2500rpm, and i would have to force the throttle closed by jamming my foot under the pedal and pushing it upward.
anybody have a solution to this? i tried spraying the cable itself with WD40, and was going to put some silicon lube on it, but not sure if it would eat up the rubber or not. anybody else have a solution? |
could be the cable was no good to begin with..or the wrong one. check the ends, and the connections.
|
its new so it cant be rusted. maybe you pinched it when you installed?
|
im 100% sure the cable is the correct one, and not rusted. i checked to see if there was any visible pinches, but didn't see any :/
could it be that it's not the cable? and possibly the throttle body getting stuck or something? what should i do in that case? i don't wanna be spraying WD40 in there. |
^ did you do your swap yet??
|
where did u buy the cable?
|
John, check the rubber boot on the cable at the throttle body end.
|
^wanna come do it for me? possibly tuck my wires too? :P
seriously though, what do i check for? dave -- yea i got it done a couple weeks ago, thats why i had to get a new throttle cable. |
check to make sure you have it routed properly
