Temperature Gauge Fluctuation

I took my 94 RS out of storage on the weekend.
I noticed that on the hwy the temp gauge stays close to Cold and in city driving it goes to the middle. This is only my second time driving it, so I'm not sure this is normal but it doesn't seem like a Honda.. they usually just stay in the middle.

The rad fluid is full and I re-bled the system. The car has had a full tune-up and has only 170,000km.

Is this normal?

Sounds like there's still air in the system. Try burping it. Run the car with the rad cap off until the therostat kicks in. Might take a while to get up to temp. Watch for bubbles to come up through the top. I like to put a funnel on the opening so I can over-fill it slightly. Squeezing gently on the hoses also helps kick up some of the air. Usually takes me a few burping sessions before my system is completely clear of air. You may also have a thermostat that stuck in the closed positon. You can remove it and test it, by boiling it with a thermometer to see at what temp it upens. But seeing as they're so cheap, most people just replace them. Might as well get a new rad cap while you're at it. The other thing is check your rad and hoses for leaks. It may only leak under pressure so not seeing spots on your driveway doesn't always mean there's no leak. Also is your coolant water mix correct? Needs to be 50/50 or use a premixed solution. 100% coolant doesn't cool very well.

Do the Honda thermostats fail open or closed?
