teggy wont start

My 1990 integra Gs wont start unless i jump start it and keep it runing.... and if i shut it off it wont turn back on unless i jumpstart it again!...

What could be the issue? alternator or battery? i have another battery from my 1993 integra i connected negative and positive right but it still wouldnt turn on or even make a sound when i try turning it on would i hafve to boost it so it could start and keep it running for a bit with the other battery?

JDM_overdose Feb 18, 2010 09:23 PM

battery.

when you start it without it jump started. does it click. or did it click.

INT3GRA Feb 18, 2010 09:23 PM

it doesnt click... it did before tho ...

JDM_overdose Feb 18, 2010 09:26 PM

100% battery

i had the same problem with my dc.

INT3GRA Feb 18, 2010 09:32 PM

so what should i do jump start the new battery i put in...?

zero Feb 19, 2010 04:08 AM

check starter / replace starter

if you jump start and let idle for like 15min or
take it for a rip it will charge up your battery

INT3GRA Feb 19, 2010 06:09 AM

how could i check the starter..

and the thing is when i put my key in no lights or anything like that opens everything pretty much is off..

The starter has nothing to do if the battery has no voltage. Take the car to a shop and get them to do a AVR test on it, that will test the battery and the alternator, and that test will tell you if the battery is good or not, and it will also tell if the alternator is charging or not.

It's not always the battery people, you must look at the whole circuit not just one part of it.

I assumed the battery he had from his 93 teg had sufficient charge to start the car..

INT3GRA Feb 19, 2010 02:22 PM

it was the fuses... so now all the lights turned on but wont start and mechanic said it was the starter why pay him 170 for labor:S:S:S:S if i could do it myself told it was easy

their 2-3 bolts i know and what are the sizes? because ill be needing a socket wrench with an extension..
