what is the impedance of your subwoofers? Are they dual voice coils? what amplifier are you running, a mono amp or is it a stereo amp that is bridged? it could either be the impedance (ohms) is wired too low for the amp or there could be a short in a subwoofer somewhere.
ya thats a good point about the over heating..
i used to have the amp on the top of my box but now i put it behind the box so maybe thats it? it worked fine like that for over a month tho..
its a bridgable amp and the sub is svc
the impedance did change alot though from my old sub to this one..
either way it worked so well before...im hopin its the heat..gonna remove the trunk cover and put the amp back on top and see how that works...
checked all the wiring and fuses...the amp is gettin power...jus the sub isnt getting power for some reason...its worring me alot..
gonna try to open up the box this weekend and see how things are doin inside...

There's plenty to do outside my room but I choose not to!

im hopin its something stupid as over heatin and not a real problem thats gonna be costly...that would suck ***...
could it be that my amp is workin harder now with the new sub that it is over heatin?

this happened to me as well just yesterday. my sub was pounding so freaking hard that the male connectors inside the box came out. I thought it was the amp so i was screwing around with the amp and increased the gain and bass boost on my amp..
I suggest:
1. When it is really hot open the rear seat so there is more air going to the amp.
2. Lower your gain a little bit (it might give more bass at a low volumer but it will sound cleaner with loud volume and not just a bunch of rattle) trust me on this
3. is you have a bass boost do the same as step 2. Its like tuning an engine, do the proper settings for your amp and you get good results. Right now my sub pounds better then ever because i fixed the settings yesterday.
Thats what i did and its better now...give it a try.

When the bass stops, the thermal protection mode light will illuminate if the amp is overheating (if the amp is equipped with one). If the protection light is not on, check your grounds with an ohm meter.

its alredy bridged
ill put the gain back to 0..but its been workin fine at +3 for over a month...thats what bothers me..
still havent gotten around to checkin the wiring inside the box that mite be it cuz it doesnt seem to be anythin wit amp turnin off or not gettin any power..if there was a bad ground there wouldnt be any power goin to the amp right?

wrong, if your grounds loose, it'll work sometimes, and sometimes it wont. depends on the vibration, bumps in the road etc. just check your grounds, re tighten everything, and hopefully thats all u need done.

^^ ---- i hope ur not sayin my sub is about to blow...cuz i jus got this less then 2 months ago...
i didnt check the rcas coming off the deck...over looked that one i guess...thanx man
but i checked all the wires from the amp to the speakers...all thats left is the wiring inside the box...
i dont think ill have time to check anything until this summester is over...i really miss bass

If your amp is staying on when there is no sound coming out of the sub your best way to check if its your amp back to deck or if its the sub or conection to the sub is the following:
- grab a volt meter...doesn't have to be good one..any will do
- set it to AC
- probe your speaker outputs on the amp. If you get a reading but the sub still makes no sound than you know its the sub or wiring to the sub.
Try this...let me know what happens and I will help from there.
