Steering wheel install

Hey guys, wonder if you guys can help here, not 100% sure if i did this right.

I took off my aftermarket wheel and hub of my 94 GSR. i think i did everything fine and its back to normal however the 2 covers (top and bottom) of the steering coloum is not snapping together right. seems like something behind it is in the way. i put everything back together right i beleive..the only thing i can think of is....

you guys that that black round peice that goes right behind the wheel. it spins and has a small round see throuch gauge on it. when you turn the wheel you can see the gauge moving. well that part, i screwed its in and it seems like it can only go in the way i screwed it with the screws lining up...but i wonder if that gauge part is supposed to be at the botton. i currently have it sitting at the top right side. i think that gauge which sticks out a bit is whats making the top cover not snapping into with the botton cover..

sorry is the thread is weak....

the gauge you speek of should be on the bottom and the flasher sits in it

really...i hate it sitting at the top right...and the 2 screws line up perfect....im driving it everyday now and it seems fine..just that the 2 covers are 100% fitted right.

you should also disconnect the air bag plug in the cluster so the SRS lights does not stay on.
