Default Engine Light Question!

So at a traffic light less than 5 mins away from home my engine light came on at Idle... RPM less than 1000, Oil good, Gas good, Temps Normal...

So I decided to just park it and cab it home... Till I figure out what the deal is!

Symptoms: Engine Check Light > Rough Idle (At normal RPM), When pressing the accelerator lightly seem rough!

Note*** Timing Belt was done this past summer!

Any ideas anyone? Gimme some help before I call CAA to tow home 2 KMS

It could just be a simple misfire causing it to run like that and throw the code, it would be OK to drive especally if its just 2km. You can get the code by jumping the service connector under the right side of the dashboard and it will give you the code.

Im not sure...without seeing it, its quite hard to diagnose in a forum.

To me it sounds like a misfire. If your not sure how to diagnose it and repair get it towed to your mechanic if you don't want to risk driving it like that.

Goodluck, keep us updated.

Glad you found your problem. And everything is cleared up...

This might not sound right, but would having a small air bubble in the cooling system also give the same effects?

Changed and all is Well...!!! Thx Peeps!!

"small air bubble in the cooling system also give the same effect"

I am not sure but, I don't see why it would as its the cooling system and all temps were normal!

Anyone know where to get a bluetooth OBD2 Reader, I don't want to go to flea bay just yet!

Good to hear its fixed.

And the air bubble thing wouldn't cause misfires.
