starting issue
 

hey everyone,

i have a 95 DC, and this used to happen at rare occasions at first.. like once every hundred starts, but now its a bit more frequent. i have to hold the key in the start position for a while for the car to even crank. it starts every time and the crank is normal. the car drives perfectly fine after too. but it gets annoying sometimes holding the key for like 5-10 seconds waiting for it to start cranking. anyone know what might be up? thanks

Check the ground cable for starter ;)

Mine was ripping up and was acting the same way except every start it would start cranking with a second delay after i hit the key. Replaced the ground cable recently and problem is gone.

could also be the ignition switch in the steering column
