Default Speedo is no longer working

freaking hell! first it was the temp sensor issue!.... now speedo issue!

so i was pretty much driving on the 400 yesterday, i decided to try out the Cruise control...... next thing you know my speedo went up and down few seconds it works a few seconds it doesnt. so shut off the cruise control and it was fine afterwords. (followed by a flashing D4)

today started up the car, speedo was working on and off followed by a flashing D4 and now CEL comes on afterwords, engine is still running smooth (sounds smooth, feel smooth, transmission shifts alright) what could it be? been trying to search for the problem.

the only thing i could think of is the Vss?

Thats your vss harness. The metal pins are probably corroded. replace it with a harness from another car from the scrap yard. If its going up and down then its not the actual VSS because your speedo wouldn't work at all. I've had the same problem twice in two of my cars.

Problem FIXED!

VSS harness looked okay, so i used some electrical grease dabbed some on the harness, and that was it... 300KM's so far and no wacked up speedo!

thanks NBK for the tip!
