Speed o Meter working sometimes

so my speed o meter is like fucked or something. When i go on the highway at high speeds somethings it just doesnt work and comes back down to 0km/h. Gas guage works, temp guage works, rpm works, the km's dont increase. Like is there something i can do to fix that cause it is very annoying on the highway when 1/4th of the time i dont know what speed i am doing and i am not in the mood of getting any more tickets. so if anyone can let me know that possible solution it would be great. thanks

check the connections behind your gauge cluster..one of the harnesses is for u'r speed o meter, check to make sure it is in properly

im scared to open that ----...i know there there are a few screws...can someone tell me how to so that way i dont ---- it up. thanks

there are two screws holdin the bezel on (the frame thing) on top, give it a firm pull and it will come out, after that u will see the gauge cluster held on to the dash by phillip screws, un screw those and the cluster will come out, then just check the harnesses and put everything back the way u found it

yeah man, what he said ^
my speedometer is acting the same way, but thats because i disconnected the connection behind the cluster. it looks like a small spike protruding from your engine bay into your gauges...just get some slack from it and attach it into the back of your cluster. your speedo and odo should work after that.
oh and i disconnected mine cuz im putting a different cluster in :S

Nate what do you mean by that. i opened the cluster yesterday and tightened the connections but the problem is still there. Nate maybe you know better since you are working on yours. could you provide me with a little bit more detail on what i should be doing. thanks a lot
