Default so i was doing my brakes today and..

so i finally got around to doin my brakes..and guess what i found..i think its the CV boot (the rubber boot on both sides of front wheels)..well anyways the left on is torn..and there a bunch of grease all over the back of my wheel and stuff, what i wanted to know was what needs to be replaced...the boot..or the entire axel?

and also...but the time i got around to doing the rear discs...the caliper bolt was ro rusted it wound hold under the socket..so any sugestions on getting that sucker out?

and is there and easy way to take off the dust sheild on the rear..i had to take off the 1st bolt, and when i couldent get to the seconf i just bent it backwards..how the heck do u get back there?...and helms SUX *** in describing how to do rear brakes.

usually u can get away wit jus replacin the cv boot...but it depends on how long its been rip and how long the joint has gone witout any grease...

if theres jus rust over the bolt makin it bigger that the socket wont fit over it...either bang the rust free or jus hammer the socket onto the bolt...

theres only 2 bolts on the dust cover...both very easy to get to once the tire is off...the hardest one is close to the caliper...jus use an extention or a longer socket...

no, i ment the bolt is so rusted that its like round around the edges so the socket wont catch the top of it.

and i jus got back from the move store and when i got outta my car the wheel was smoking..i think its burnin the grease r sumthing..but i'm gettin kinda worried..

you'll need a bolt extractor. it's like a socket, but has these teeth on it that grabs onto the head of the rusted/stripped bolt.

never heard of grease burnin on a caliper or rotor...centrificle force would spray it to the inside of the rim not the brakes...sounds more like ur brakes r grabbin and ur burnin pad...
