small question on rims
is it ok to use degreaser on my rims?
what's the best way to clean them? thank you. |
i wouldnt use anything other thank Meguiars hot rims on them just to be safe, degreaser has harsh chemicals in it wich can harm your finish, warm water and a flared head brush from crappytire, its the ones that look like the tips of the brush have been split like 100 times so they loose the abrasiveness and are soft to the touch,or you could try a relatively low number toothbrush, thats my oppinion

i used to use the spray on stuff u can get at crappy tire and let it sit for a few mins, then spray it off with a power washer or at the pay-n-spray
|
I think you can use aircraft cleaner.
Alby, JK buddy. |
+1 for meguires rim and tire cleaner
|
car soap, unless the brake dust is really caked on...
|
^ i get crazy brake dust everyday +_+ i dunno if all of you get it or is it only me
|
^ Depends on the pad. I had Hawk HP+ and within one day of just driving to work, the front rims would be covered. By the end of the week, they would be black. I've since changed to gunmetal rims and the Hawk HPS and I can't really tell. Hawks are naturally dusty, though.

putting wax on the wheel will repel brake dust and make it easier to clean, as well as protecting the finish. wheels are supposed get too hot for regular waxes, so they make stuff like this. but on my current wheels, i just sprayed on quick detailer after a wash every once in a while.
