Shocks.......Discuss
Time to decide
I have the ITR springs (progressive 250lbs rear and linear 250lbs front) Do i get the Koni Yellow's $169.99 8 way adj. rebound Tokico Illumina's $169.49 5 way adj. Rebound & Compression |
Koni, cause they are spoon yellow.
But then again, isnt Tokico spoon blue? |
i hear a lot of good things about the yellows, im sure others have too.
a lot of autox'ers use the yellows and gc sleeve combo and swear by them. |
Id go with the Koni's. The adjustable dampening would come in handy for your needs.
|
I would vote for the Koni Yellow...
adjustable dampening is a great factor, pending on your application, I know that they are height adjustable, so if the ITR 1 inch drop is not enough, you adjust the perches to gain a bit more of a drop... |
I'm running on Koni Yellows, Love em!
|
Yellow's are a much better shock, in that they're rebuildable, and can be customized by Koni to fit your needs. You can have thme converted to double-adjustable, revalved, shortened.......
Lose the progressive springs though. They're for minivans ;) |
koni's are not 8 way.. since they don't click you basically can fine tune your rebound.
also don't forget lifetime warranty. |
I have Illuminas and are very pleased with them. I would have gotten Yellow's but i scored a good deal on the Illuminas.
Erick: Illuminas are White in colour :p |
I had illuminas on my teg, the valving was never quite right. I had them on my MX6 and they rocked there, but the koni yellows are great!
|
koni yellows full stiff FTMFW! but seriously, i like my koni's.

also don't forget lifetime warranty. Trust me, koni warentee is garbage. my shocks blew, and they didnt want to send me new ones, unless i sent the old ones there, waited 6 weeks for them to be checked, then sent back..another 2 weeks.. bah humbug |
meh... that's the first time i've heard bad things about koni usa warranty.
i'd pm crxlee on H-T |
^^^ exactly...if you go with any other manufacturer, you dont' even get a warranty when you lower your car.
