shift knob question

hey guys! i just got a used razo ra66 gear shifter...but i have a problem instlaling it. apparently it's a screw on..and i guess the plastic piece inside is a one time screw on use sorta thing...and since i'm second owner...it doesn't 'mold to the thread of my shifter. so i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a used shifter and how did you get it to fit. can i buy thes plastic things that molds it to your shifter? le tm eknow! thansk guys

if it's a threaded for a honda shifter, the threads are probably stripped. you can put teflon/ plummers tape on the thread on the shifter. if it's a universal shifter, it was probably previously installed on a non honda, where the knobs will sometimes come with various rubber inserts to make it fit snug on the shaft of the shifter in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm....

can these plastic things be bought...so i can put a new one in?

they generally come in the package with the universal shift knob. it's kinda ghetto, but you could always use duct tape on the shifter to get the knob to sit snug....
