Default Head Unit (w/no RCA input to amp)

My car got broken in and my kickass stereo got stolen,so so much for the expensive head units i'm never buying another one ever...i'm installing the factory head unit...the theft just took my stereo but i still have the amp..i want to know what do you call to that thing that you use to connect the amp to the head unit that doesn't have a rca input and where can i buy it..if somebody can teach me how to install it also will be great.
Cheers'

You can get one at futureshop.... best buy... can tire.... even wal mart.... the name of it escapes me.... I'll look it up... its simple to install... it just ties in to your rear speaker wires....

you need a hi-pass low-pass filter.

you have to splice it into the existing speaker harness and it will give you rca output.

big up James, i think i'll grab that tomorrow...i'm not spending anymore money to buy a new head unit for those thieves to steal..i'll be fine with my factory stereo.

......also i'm looking to get a alarm system for my car, any reccomendations for a good not so pricey alarm?

i've used that box thingy to convert a speaker wire into an RCA output back in the day. it makes your subs sound like ---- because you still get all of the highs/mids/low's instead of just a low frequency for the subs.

you're right fuzzy, its not the best alternative but it is an alternative.

you just have to do alot of adjusting such as turning the gain down on the amp and reducing the sub output on the stock deck down so that you don't get a popping sound.

but like someone mentioned, i went to 2001 audio video bought a shitty panasonic deck for 69.99 and it plays mp3 and it comes with aux in and it has the capabilities for 2 amps which isn't to bad, so there's also that route.

^^^if you have a decent amp with a LPF on it it shouldnt be too bad, but dont look into running HUGE bass with this route, just something moderated
