Rim Polishing Question
 

When polishing rims, why do you need to use aircraft stripper? If the purpose is to remove the clear coat, doesn't the action of sanding remove the clear coat anyway? Hollar.

To save time

it's sooooo much easier stripping the clear than sanding

I want to polish my sir winter rims with the rubber attached. I'm worried that the aircraft stripper might affect the tire seal. Anybody have experience with this?

Im pretty sure you can get away with it but I would be very very careful.
