Removing Drivers side CV shaft

Hey all,

I have to remove the drivers side cv shaft on my 95 teg automatic. Is there anything special I need to know or is it a straight forward job? Should I replace the ball joint while I am at it?

My thing is the drivers side has an intermediate shaft also. Is that two pieces? How do i get them apart?

You won't need to drain the tranny fluid (If working on the drivers side) unless you will be removing the intermediate shaft. And getting them apart is the same thing. Just pry the axle like the picture shows, but pry it out of the intermediate shaft as opposed to the tranny.
