i believe with the viper 5000, you have up to 6 channels of outputs, where you access them by pushing a combination of the 4 buttons on the transmitter. you can add an add on remote start to it, but whatever shop you'll go to will most likely not want to mess with someone elses install (any new problems down the road, they own it) and it's unsafe as vipers don't have lockout safety features for remote start for manuals. you don't want to have the clutch switch bypassed. i've met many installers who have horror stories of getting hit by manual transmission cars with improperly installed (read non manual transmission designed) remote starts, whether the car is left in gear or the owner went to another shop to get the remote start add on and didn't tell the original shop that installed it when they went in for a repair that the buttons on the transmitters were reprogrammed.

if you want remote start, get a manual transmission compatible security/remote start like a compustar product. do not get an add on to your viper because you (or someone else) might end up accidentally sending your car though your garage door or your living room wall or even end up seriously injuring or killing someone.
