Remote starter problem

I've got a problem.

My remote starter works locking and unlocking the car, alarm activates and all, BUT...when I go to start the car, it turns on everything as it's about to start the car (lights in cluster go on, tail lights, etc etc) then the car shuts off. I can only start the car with the key again.

Now I remember reading on here (Spike said it), turning the key in your ignition about 7-10 times deactivates something in the car alarm. I didn't think it was true and I did it the next morning. Low and behold, it seemed to have caused my problem. My own stupid fault. (I also blame Spike for tempting me ;) )

Any inputs on how to get this to start again?

On my compustar, I have to press button 1 and 4 for 2 seconds. and it made everything fine.

Do some google research about your specifac car starter brand. See what shows up

Take the car back to the people that installed the alarm and get them to look at it.

check the tach wire, if it starts and shuts off then the module is probably not getting a signal from the tach wire (blue wire probably spliced into a wire at the dizzy)

Oh God. That was back in 1999. I don't even know who the hell installed the alarm. haha

Original owner FTW

Lummer, will do, thanks

actually i think its a purple wire from the remote starter and will either be at the dizzy (on a blue wire) depending on what car it is it could be a single pin connector on the L/F strut tower, or even jumped in a the ecu or fuse box (but that would be on a like 2004 and up i think)
