pushing back?....
hey i drive a 1992 acura integra with a b16 motor
so the problem i have is that the engine is pushing back?.. like when i was driving on the highway at 5th gear when i was at about 4k rpm it kinda of started to slow down and like push back, and i couldn't accelerate but after a secound or two it was fine and i could accelerate again but then after a while i did it again and this keeps happening over and over i noticed it on 5th gear first and then other gears too, it seemed to slow down on its own and then go fast again?..what may be the problem?... the engine was installed last year you think it maybe the tranny? clutch? anything?.....its kind of unsafe on the highway...it lowers the speed down to like 80 or something when im going around 105 km/h....... |
if it sounds like its bogging...like theres no power when you press the gas...try checking your wires and spark plugs, it could just be that you need a tune up

what can i do to fix the problem beacuse i'm scared to drive on the highway because it slows down alot and i don't want to get rear ended...lol
so a tune up will fix the problem?.... |
Start small,get new plug wires/spark plugs then if it doesn't fix it then replace the dizzy internals then see if it still does it.

i kind of have this happening to me too... its random and happens every few weeks to me... only right after startup... when I accelerate in 1st it goes to like 3000 rpm then it like pushes back as you say and drops my rpm to 1000 and then shoots right back to 3000 after a few seconds... then it wont happen again for the entire drive... mines auto though so thought it was my transmission? but I can't ever replicate it...

i don't even know if 92 integra have cruise control LOL......
anyway..also when this happens my engine light also turns on even after its done the push so i don't know, like if i rev and drive and high rpm then it happens over n over on a normal drive it will happen like sometimes 2-3 times thats it.....what can it be?.... so yeah..i want to get a engine tune and see if it still dose it, but i also gotta fix my engine light problem and why it's doing that lol... |

ive got a similar but not identical problem with my metro...when my gas guage reads pretty much empty (im pretty sure its wrong) it'll get to a point where I step on the gas and it will rev to about 2-3k (i dont have a tach) and stay there as if I held the pedal in one spot (even though it may be floored) and then a few seconds later continues on to 3,4,5k until 2nd gear, then roughly the same thing happens for each gear...so essentially i cant drive above 2.5-3k on the tach...but then i fill the tank with some petrol and she's fine till it gets low...weird i guess..

i'm pretty sure its either our fuel pump or fuel filter thats what happened on my DA

yeah the engine lights stay on on after that, until i turn the car off and then use it another time like an hour later and it will be gone,
how do i check the codes? what cna be the problem? i want to get it fixed before the weekend... |
I've had the same thing happen to me a few times, it's hit and miss. It boggs down at around 4000 and sometimes you can't accelerate until you're down to 2500. It hasn't happened since the weather warmed up though.
I'm pretty sure it's the fuel filter or my CAI. I'll keep you posted if I manage to figure it out! |

my filter for that is kind of damadged a little bit nothing major.. |
