problem with blox LCAs
I put some blox rear LCAs and they've been in my 96 teg for about 2 months now and the bushings for the coil over fork is completely torn. is there any bushings i can use to replace them, other than the blox bushings?
|
I believe not.
One of mine is crapping out, but ill wait till its completely gone and maybe get skunk2 lca's. |
Unfortunately Blox is a really cheap quality brand. Ive heard the bushings be worse then OEM bushings. Some Energy polyurathane bushings would do just great. Hell even OEM ones.
Personally , I wouldn't buy anything made by Blox. |
Don't hate on oem. Oem bushings are very good compared to what's out there. Obviously they will be shot after 15-20years and 200+ thousand km, but so will all other aftermarket replacements. I believe some poly bushings can be used with some slight trimming.

I wasnt really trying to say that OEM are bad. But im saying that the purpose of buying LCA's is to replace the original bushings for an "upgrade" . But Blox bushings defeats that purpose since they're so horrible.
|
yah i had to buy something at the time and now im regreting it, my oem stuff was seized and bolts where snapped, that sucks. now when i do eventually get some new LCAs before torqueing them in i have to set the car down and preload the bushings right
|
yeah... i bought a set of blox lca's.... then i sold them the next day....
lol they were so garbage i actually felt bad taking the guys money.... skunks ftw!!! |
I heard that does happen to blox LCA's like everything else out there you get what you pay for.
I have the Skunk2's i'll see how they hold out once i start to drive it. |
Yea I've heard nothing but nightmares with the Blox LCAs.. I'm personally a fan of stock LCAs sandblasted and painted nicely with a fresh set of Energy Suspension bushings. The bushings are strong as hell and you know you don't have to worry about the LCA ever breaking on you even in a sideways curb slam haha.

Now would the skunk bushings last with a stiff coil over. I'm pretty sure my coilovers caused some of the ripping in the bushings.
|
they would last just as well as any of the bushings on the market. i have the skunks on my car and i'm loving them.
|
alright sounds good
