powder coating VS DIY painting on rims?
 

I have BSA rims which i want to paint or powder coat red,

which one do you guys think is a better option and if i were to powder coat them what are some good places/prices

and around the GTA area what do rota GT3 (red) go for? and are they hard to find?

DIY - Depends how much effort you put into them. Some turn out just as good as power coating or getting them done yourself or even better.

Prices usually around the $100 per rim with the tire on it or $110.

There are many shops you can get this work done. I always recommend carcones, they are located in King 20-25min from the 401 and 400.

You can find GT3's at Tires 23. google them and you can get their info. Its in Mississauga.

As for quality of paint ? Depends how you paint them, vs powder coating. It all comes down to prep and how you paint the rims.

Thanks guys i think i might just but a new set of Gt3 for the summer,because i dont want to paint them and ---- them up, but for now ive been looking at this thing called plasti dip have you guys heard of it ?

Alot of people from various car forums have people have started using this stuff as a temporary paint or just to protect their rims, or to black out emblems and stuff like that.. im gonna try it out on my winter rims this weekend have some fun with it :)

Yup, I've read about Plasti-Dip. I would do it. Look good, its durable, and you can peel it off,...literally. Lol. all 3 are good options. I say, try the plasti dip. Everyone seems to love it, I was actually gonna do it on my winter rims...but I got lazy loool

Ya I also heard of the plasti dip, It's a great idea for winter rims. It's great for those who like one style of rim but would like change the colour. Heard it's very simple to apply and peel off later on.

^ wow. first time reading up on that stuff. seems like i'll be making a trip to home depot tomorow lol....need to stack up for summer time...
