Hey guys im building a spare tire enclosure and i have a false floor in my trunk which is actually the lid of the box. Now I want to make it a ported box. I want to put the port on the side of my box which would actually be under the false floor, therefore it is firiing underneath the floor and not in the actual trunk area. My question is, will this be a problem, am i going to loose sound quality compared to if it was firing up into the trunk area. Just so you know its a 4 inch diameter circular port, and where it is firing there is about half a cubic foot of space.

 

I don't think you will, since bass is non-directional.

The only thing would be that it won't be as noticable(loud) being under the false floor....
