long story shortsince im lazy and u are too

i wash the car twice with soup
dry
clay bar the entire car (mothers clay bar)
wax

end result, she shines

if ur paint is new or whatever, i'd bring it to a pro

nothing beats a nice high speed orbital wax job w/ good products like meguair's professional line

but if u wanna do it urself, like dood said up top, wash the car, use a 3 step system, cleaner, polish, wax. if ur paint is real dirty, then clay bar. meguairs, mothers i like, the real carnuba ----, i don't really f w/ the synthetic sealer products like zymol zaino and stuff

i mount maxi pads on an orbital buffer and use tampons for in the seams.

but on a serious note, wash then claybar then polish then wax. Or like mechatune said just take it to someone for a high speed polish.
