painting my interior???
 

Hey everyone, now that its nice weather outside i was thinking of painting my interior, i have a white exterior and was thinking white interior, but i hear the white dash gives a s**t load of glare, so i was thinking just keeping black + another colour, any suggestions??? POST PICS OF YOUR INTERIORS IF YOU WANT!!! I NEED IDEAS!!!!

also, what chemicals or products did you use? or do you recommend that i use to pain my interior, i also want to dye the seats i heard this is possible, was i missled? also i want to dye the carpet.... i hear this is possible as well, anyone got any tips or can anyone give me step by step!!?!?!

running a 95 integie white exterior... currently charcoal, green, black interior.... mish mash of colours, thats why i wanna colour it to make it look sexy..... post replies here or

Painting interiors was cool back in 1997

Painting interiors in 2005 = GHEY.

Black is best. Do not paint your interior...It will flake or chip very easily... Nevermind it being the riciest thing ever.

I am assuming the majority of your interior is black ( ie. dash, steering wheel, charcoal carpet etc) I would do one of two things.

1. Switch the door panels to GS-R or ITR (The ones that are leather) GS-R leather arm rest, GS-R leather seats.

2. Switch the door panels to GS-R or ITR (The ones that are leather) Type R JDM Recaro Seats (Reds), Type R arm rest, CTR steering wheel and Type R shift knob.

thats the most riced out s**t you could do a teg.
leave it or get all oe black pieces, if you really want to do something then do a cf overlay dash kit, not the fake cf but the real deal

^^ but why?? if you want to do something like cf, why get the real deal for like $1,000,000 when you can get the fake stuff for like $49.99!!!

ive seen friends paint their interiors without it flaking off, but you just lose that "nice" look of a stock interior...dont know how to explain it, but it just looks ghetto after a while

well heres the thing i am now thinking of switching to a gs-r interior, but my roof and the pillers inside my car are like a green colour... wtf is that!?!?! what was acura thinking? so that is why i was going to paint my car, to make those items black as well... so i would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

^^maybe you should relax, after all you are the one asking for help...we can't picture the green you might be talking about, so we have no clue!!! but anyways every teg has bland pillars and roof liner...i think jay bro did his roofliner black, i forget...but you could paint them i guess, just proper prepping and patience, and your set

i have the same colour in the interior as this guy have.. They wont chip off depending on how u paint it.. I jst cant take off the vent on the driver side..lmao..having a bit of trouble..lol

I think your roof liner may have just become discoloured over the years. Do you smoke? or was the previous owner a smoker? Try having it shampoo'd or steam cleaned. My g/f has a 96 LS teg and it doesnt have any green in it...

I wouldnt waste time or money painting the roof liner man...swap the door panels, throw in a nice comfy set of JDM recaro's (reds)CTR sterring wheel and ITR shift nob and your chillin... :yeah:

i've seen people get their interior painted professionally the same as the color of their car. like metallic ---- too. looks real good. so if you want to spend $1500 then go for it. if you do it yourself it'll just flake off. i've painted my interior many times over and over (in white.) White gets very dirty very easily. And the glare is crazy. After a month or two it'll go to ----. So do it professionaly or do it yourself with Krylon. And some clear coat. Just dont put like 6 coats on because the more layers the easier it will chick and crack. Stick to like 2-3 coats color. Maybe one or two coats clear coat. And ofcourse the Fibreclass/Plastic Primer first. Cuz the paint wont stick to everything.

You most likely painting your interior only morons with no class do that ---- :P Also don't come on here with 5 posts and try to act all bad with your ignorant ass calling people names you most likely wont win anyones good advice. Try to relax and honestly you must be colour blind to think a tan colored roof or pillar is green I dunno maybe ur breath is so bad u turned it that colour.
Just clean ur car and see if that helps.

Hey man .. chill, people will always criticize cause not everyone has the same opinions on things .. I've come to realize and accept that.

With that said though, I know what you mean about wantin to paint your pillars and roof liner ... I wanted to do it too .. especially since the previous owner of my car had already painted a lot of the interior parts white and red ... my bland pillars and roof liner stick out even more :jeez: Haven't personally tried to do it though so can't give you much advice there but as someone already said .. proper prep and patience and you can have them matchin the rest of your interior easily ... good luck! :yeah:

painting the entire interior white woudl be a hell of a lot of work adn woudl look tacky as hell. most of the time painting just the interior plastics is tacky as hell as ppl choose the brightest tackiest colours, and usually do a terrible job in which everything flakes and chips after a while.... wiht that said haha i have painted interior :s

u can get carbon fibre roof liner for the teg. i think it costs like 3 bills tho, ive seen it on the web.

How did I guess? you said it was green yourself and no I dont know what it looks like because I didnt see it so I was going by what you said and I found it hard to believe. Honestly if you have this ------- colour on your pillars and on your interior roof that was so ------- eyecatching ugly, you would want to do anything to get rid of it, even if it looks a lil ghey, b/c who stares at the roof or pillars if they seem to blend into the dash? nobody, but if they are a completely different colour, then i mean cmon you would want to change it too, and i was thinking of the cf dash kit, but i think it looks kinda cheesy, but thats just me, id rather have stock interior instead of pasting ---- on ( yes i know painting is just as bad, but this needs to be done, a dash kit doesnt)
