Oil Pressure Gauge Install
 

How do you guys install oil pressure gauge? the one with the sending unit. I was thinking of using a T but i don't trust those things.

I was thinking of the OIL FILTER BLOCK ADAPTER, but I don't know where to get one.

most of the you can get a dual out put sender so you can keep you light and your guage

I'd go for a T. I disconnected my original sensor and put just the aftermarket sensor in. Which then makes your oil light turn on. So i took apart my dashboard and pulled out the oil pressure light bulb in the dash. Make sure u get the right sensor for the right gauge. Different sensors have different resistance. One sensor made my PSI read between 60-80. Another made my gauge read 30-60. Make sure u ground the sensor. And make sure its as close to the sensor as possible because if its too far the gauge might read a slight bit differently cause of the resistance. So basically get a T. Its the safest way to go. God knows one day you might be out of oil and then ur whole engines fucked cuz of a stupid sensor. But if you do put a T your gunna have very little room to get to your oil filter which might piss off your mechanic a bit.

You will need a special T-fitting connector since the new oil sender that comes with your oil psi gauge is quite heavy and can cause damage to to the thread at he back of the block. I would suggest investing in the proper T-fitting you can buy this from Defcon-Racing but its little pricey at almost $100 bucks. But worth it if you want to install it properly. I would just take your Teg to Dave at Defcon-racing in pickering tell Dave Natasha sent you. He does great work I guarentee you won't be dissapointed.

DO NOT ATTACH A T-FITTING TO THE BACK OF THE BLOCK! Instead, mount your T-fitting to your firewall and run a SS hose to it with proper high-quality fittings on them. T-fittings will break if mounted on the block since it can not handle the vibration from your motor over the life of your motor. It's happened to me, a ton of people I know and will eventually happen to anyone who has done it themselves. If the T-fitting breaks off, the entire contents of engine oil will hit your header and the ground. If you don't catch it, say good-bye to that motor cuz it doesn't take long to cause oil starvation. Don't cheap out on the fittings either. Get the proper ones and use the seals and torque specs recommended. Some fitting work better without seals. Read the instructions. The other option is a sandwich plate in front of the filter - make sure you don't over torque it as you putting on. It uses a rubber ring. If the ring is over torqued it will get pinched and eventually leak.

I was going to tee it. But I decided to buy the greddy oil filter block adaptor.

It's probably the best way.
I heard the T fitting can break on the block. Which sucks to fix it.
