oil change/flush

how often does everyone here do their engine oil flush???

hmmm... i think the question is how often do YOU change your oil? If you follow what the oil companies tell you to make more money, change it every 5000 miles, if you follow what your car manufacturer tells you... you'll find it in your owners manual and save a few bucks.

i change my oil every 3000kms.....its only 20 bux i won't really save a lot of money if i change it every 5000Kms....how often do u flush ur engine oil

that depends on how often you change your oil....if you do it every 3000km for six changes it would stay pretty close to original colour by the last one therefore a flush would be useless. some of those engine flush things that ppl put in before they change the oil have kerosene in it and eats your gaskets so stay away from them

im a little confuse so the engine flush has kerosine and will eat away the engine gasket.
as of right now im running synthetic motor oil and i want to switch back to regular motor oil, do i have to do this engine flush?

Engine Oil change intervals depend on the oil and filter you use. On top of the average kms you drive.

A engine flush isn't really nessacary as long as you change your oil at regular intervals. Most synthetic oils have cleaning properties, that clean you engine as you drive.

Some of the older engine flush products did have kerosine in them and would make gaskets brittle.

Most of the newer engine flush formula's are safe to use, it's just a waste of money to spend extra money for one.

If you want to clean out your engine oil and really feel that you need to, the only product I would recommend is "Auto Rx" can't by it in stores, so you'll have to grab it online.

That's really your only option, or continue on using syntheic motor oil.

I think a couple early changes are better than a flush. But I have no proof otherwise.

only get a flush if you see extra dark oil when you do an oil change or u can even see it on the dip stick. i've seen ppl do an oil change and right after the oil change their engine oil is pitch black. if you've been using synthetic oil i don't think its neccasary. but its like how trenell said Auto Rx is much better.
