Noob Suspension Question

hi, im new so i will make my question fast and as straight foward as possible

I have a 96 Teg LS Stock. I have Type R springs (so i am told) also I have a Type R rear Lower control arms and a Type R rear strut/sway (not sure on the terminology) with bushing and mounts .

The question
I will like to buy Shocks for this car, Koni Sport (yellow).
so do i buy Koni Yellow LS front and Rear

OR

Do i buy Koni Yellow LS fronts and Koni Yellow Type R rear Shocks because of the Type R rear LCA?

Regards
David

Front Suspension
Koni 8041-1152 = all 94-01 integras RS, LS ,GS, GSR, and Type R

Rear Suspension

Koni 8041-1153 = all 94-01 integras RS, LS ,GS, GSR, (standard lower control arm)
Koni 8041-1164 = Type R only (for use with Type R rear lower control arm)

if you can get a pic of your rear suspension post it up. get a shot of where the strut bolts to the control arm. that's the easiest way to tell.

Depends on if you have the Type R rear lower control arms. If you have the Type R struts in the rear, that means you do.

David - you have a choice:

If you wish to use the Type-R lower control arms, you should order the Type-R shocks, which is Koni part number 8041-1164.

If you wish to use your stock lower control arms, you should order the non-R shocks, which is Koni part number 8041-1153.

It all depends on which set-up you want to use - the stock control arms or the Type-R control arms. Either way, you have both sets of control arms at your disposal, so you could choose either route.

Sounds like the rear sway bar. This attaches to the rear lower control arms and the rear subframe. A strut bar attaches to the top of the shock towers within your trunk area. If you are installing a Type-R rear sway bar, make sure you use a subframe reinforcement kit - this will properly install the sway bar and also ensure your subframe will not rip-out.

As for the springs themselves, do a check on Team-Integra - I remember seeing an article there about this. The springs should have three different colour markings on them (I don't know them off-hand) and these marking will indicate which springs you have. Also, you should be able to tell by the thickness of the coils compared to your stock springs.
