needing help/advice with my engine/tranny/shifting problem

hey guys not sure if this should be in the tech section sorry if it should..I really need some advice regarding my engine...been stressing me out for so long now..my car is parked for the winter so i'm not in a big rush..but i feel i should figure what to do now b4 springs comes and i loose driving time....heres the deal...1 month b4 i was gonna park it...for some reason i can't even move into any gear..it locks up in nutrual..by that i mean when the engine is off....yeah i can move it around no problem...and when i start it.its locked.....so when i had to move it into the garage i had to put the car in first then start it...normally doing this the car won't move until you let go of the clutch...but now asoon as i start it the car jumps....and wants to go..even if i hold the brakes down it wants to go........so i'm thinking tranny problem...i know squat about engines.....anyways its a B16a..a jdm sir i believe....my question for you guys is...

a-should i find out whats the problem....then fix that part?
b-look around for a new engine
c-keep the head and do ls/vtec

see i'm not into speed so i careless what the engine is..but i do want the vtec...i'm thinking to fix it will be around 1000-1500 and around that price i can get another vtec engine.....

well your eyes must be bored now..so ....any help or advice or if you know anyone with a engine for really really cheap please let me know......and of course i want the best bang for the buck set-up

thanks guys...hope to see you all this summer

check to see if there's fluid in the clutch master cylinder resivoir. Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging...could be a problem with the pressure plate or release bearing or slave cylinder.

^^ Agreed.

As for upgrades, usually the best place to start isn't in the engine compartment at all. Start with good tires, then suspension, then driving schools, then grip with an LSD/closer ratio trannyg (ITR!) then go ahead and add some power. The thinking is learn to get the most out of your present setup then add more.

its more like the master or slave cylinder.....there shouldn't be anything wrong with you engine.
