Default need a theory

Ok guys I'll give you a quick run down of what happened.

The Car is a 1990 Integra Ls.

I'm driving on the 401, doing about 120, and out of no where my car starts to feel like it is going to shut down (like when the distributer is about to give you feel it a second before she turns off), and she does about two seconds after. No violent shaking or any vibrating or any mechanical sounds, just a clean cut off.

Thats it.

as of now, the car tries to start (re re re re re re re re, then it catches, fires up for a quick second, then just lets go and goes back to re re re re re re, and repeat)

So she will catch for one quick second, hold and then start all over again.

I know it's getting spark, I know it's getting fuel, and there is compression. I know 100% it's an electrical error of some sorts. I checked all fuses and all is well.

My only theory is whatever sends / controls the injectors sequence may be malfunctioning, resulting in a random squirt of fuel (which is why perhaps my car catches for a quick second), and then it fails.

I am really at a loss here. I refuse to believe all four injector went out on me, and even if some did, it would still start. Everything on the car was fine before this happened.

Any thoughts / guesses on this would help.

Thanks.....

1. - Its not the distributor because i'm getting spark ( i checked (( less the distributor can be bad and still give solid spark???)))

2. - it's not the fuel pump because i'm getting fuel ( i checked that too)

3. - the main relay, where is this located, and if it is bad, would i still be getting fuel? and how do i check to see if it is bad? is it that solenoid looking object under the steering wheel?

Thanks...

if its the main relay, when you go to start the car it will click once and nothing will happen, almost like your battery is dead(without the clicking noises). I don't know what re re re re re re re re catches means/sounds like so i can't help you

I hope that helps

I don't think you are talking about the same main relay the rest of us are.

That definitely looks like it could be the main relay, but I don't believe I've ever heard of a car dying once it was running because of one of them

Could be a bad sensor in the distributor body.

Where is the main relay located?

i it that solenoid looking object under the steering wheel? if so, is it supposed to vibrate / make a humming sound, because mine does.

Thanks

The main relay is a rectangular relay on a metal tab under and to the left of the steering column.
