Default Need a place to change out an axle..

Long story short, axle snaps at the shaft, car wont budge.

I need to replace the passenger side axle..how much should i be looking to pay? For parts, and for labor.

80-100$ for shaft. Do it at home. Easiest thing ever!

BTW what do you mean it snaps at the shaft? drive shaft and axle in a sense is the same thing :S

I've done odd repairs..but dont think I'm ready to do the axle myself. Gonna talk to my auto teacher in school tomm, and see if I can talk him into letting me do it in the shop with his guidance. And what I mean by at the shaft, is that the long metal bar part of the axle snapped right in half.
And by the way, if anyone on here is in the scarborough area, I wouldnt mind paying someone to do the job on my driveway...because towing the car to a shop would be a hassle as its not insured/plated.

Lol tried it yesterday and failed. Damn axle nut broke the socket, and even with a new socket + 2 foot breaker bar+ lots of PB, didnt budge. Gonna have to take it to a place with air tools (yes I remembered to take the dimple out of the axle nut)

I'll do it for you if you pay me
It took 6hrs to not only rebuild the drivers side axle but also change the O2 sensor & oil.

I need to get my drivers side axle rebuilt because I had a Torn CV boot, and was worried I wouldn't get a safety with it torn.
