Need help car wont start after welding done
hey had a hand to do a bit of welding on my car and now i have to boost the car to get it to fire up the battery was left hooked up and when i boost it it will fire up fine but i checked the battery with a voltage meter and it shows 20 volts but when i turn the key in the on position it drops down to 10 volts i have checked all fuses and checked the ground wire for the battery i am thinkin it still may be a battery problem but just wanna know more input befor i go and wast money on any unneeded parts any tips would be great

Hi just saw your post it happen to my 96 dc2 before my car didnt start so i tow it to my mechanics shop and check everything then they found out theres burnt wire under the dashboard..... hope it helps

you coulda fried something in the battery, a normal car battery has about 14 volts in it max when the alternater is charging it, you might wanna start with a known good battery(if you have one) to see if it fixes the problem

i agree with spyder, also a battery should be sitting anywhere from 12 to 13 volts when the car is not running
