ok here is the deal, i bought an oem antenna mast to replace my broken one and the problem is there is this sliding ring at the base that is preventing the entire unit from fitting in the bottom tube.....i was thinking of just breaking it off??? the original one from the factory didnt have this peice....wut have some of u done when u replaced urs???

Oh ----! Not the dreaded replacement mast. I got one for my girlfriends teg, it was such a pain in the ***. I had the same problem with that stupid sliding piece on it. I used a dremmel and whipped it right off. I still couldn't get it on properly and something else in the motor was messed up. I just tossed the ---- out and got a S2K antenna instead. A LOT LESS HASSLE and looks better IMO.

 

a real s2k antenna? i know the antennas are cheap but the wiring cost a lot.
