my tein ss coilovers
 

Hey, just installed my tein ss coilovers. They sit great, but when fully lowered my front sits higher than the back by almost an inch. Someone told me to take the helper springs out of the front to lower it more. Is this a good idea, or should I just level the car out in the rear?

Tein SS comes with helper springs???

Anyways all you gotta do is get a measuring tape and measure from the center of the center cap to the lip of the fender. Then make sure your on level ground and do the fronts first to the height you want, then do the rears to the height you want.

I can't remember exactly if it's the front or rear that naturally sits lower. I believe it's the rear of the car. Anyways, just compensate for it by raising it up until it's even height with the front (wheel gap wise).

So level out the rear.


Oh yeah, make sure you get a alignment, asap.

the rear doesnt necessarily sit lower...it just appears to be that way...its just the way the fenders are cut on an integra that make the wheel gap look uneven from the front to the rear... naturally, integras always look like they have a bigger gap in the front than in the rear...it pissed me off when i had my integra also... good thing spring manufacturers like H&R and Neuspeed (among others) realized this and made their springs so that the front end is dropped about a quarter to half an inch more than the rear (ex. neuspeed sport: 1.8" drop front, 1.5" drop rear) so it doesnt look like the front sits higher than the rear anymore... i guess tein doesnt compinsate for this unevenness...so you just have to even it out yourself...

I helped him install that suspension and the rear definelty sits alot lower then the front , by looking at the side skirts it is easy to see, we were thinking about taking the helper springs out of the front then raising the coil seat up so the front isn`t way lower, but would this cause a shitty ride and by shitty i mean worse then just being stiff.........

how low is the car?? by the sounds of it, it's like you want the rims to tuck in the wells. just raise the ass end up

I just wanted to find out if taking the helper springs out is a bad idea or not.... will it kill the struts?

^no. they're only there to keep the springs from rattling around.
