my 91 civic revs ONLY, WTF!!!
 

So this morning i was reversing from a parking spot @ Timmies and then all of a sudden there was like a little crack and then the car just revved. Then i tried all my gears (1,2,3,4,R) and all it did was revv. Then as i was in 2,3,4 there was like a little soft grinding noise in those gears. Do you think its the clutch or the trannie??? :(

What do you mean all it does is revv? you can't get into any gear? if you do you can't accelerate?

a buddy of mine snapped a shaft...did the same thing....take a quick look at those...cant hurt to rule them out...

if the clutch was gone youd have a hard time putting it in gear. id say one of your sick mad burnouts snapped a driveshaft

i talked to him on MSN. he snapped a shaft. as soon as he said "then all of a sudden there was like a little crack and then the car just revved" i just said "axle" but continued on with the rest, so i kept saying "axle"........"axle"

Its the left side c.v. I knew it was about to go on me.

I ordered a brand new 1 from the states, my mehcanic installed a re-built 1 already, If anyone needs 1 for a 1988-1991 crx/civic please P.M. me

ebay'd it cuz it was cheaper. he had it on the way but it snapped before he got it
