LS Build
While I accumulate the funds to build my car I'm trying to decide what to do. What I want is a quick, comfortable daily driver that is reliable. What I mean is that the most important thing is that the car continues to drive nice as I build it up. Here is the stats on my car:
1995 LS (Milano Red) Relatively new stock B18B from a 2000 (have the receipts from the swap, 7000km ago) No performance modifications anywhere. The suspension could use improvement, and I intend on doing that. Basically what I'm looking for is suggestions about the motor, possible swap, suspension etc. Thanks for the help guys. |
You can't beat a GSR or Type R for power and reliability... Look into those as far as swaps are concerned.
If cash is a problem, then pick up a GSR w/ LSD. You'll LOVE it. |
a gsr swap ig going to run you about 2500-3000$. thats if you do the work yourself. I hope your saving your money. And type r is even more.
|
Buy a Helm's manual, and get a piggy bank...
Well worth it :D |
build the LS to the tits, then boost it.
|
bang for the buck with reliability would be the GSR swap.
|
all valid points, obviously I'd love a type-r, but i think more realistically i will swap in a GSR.
Are any of you guys running a particular suspension set-up that you would recommend to drop my car up to 2", i'd like a comfortable performance set-up. |
i have a 93 DA, the setup i have right now is koni yellows on neuspeed springs with skunk2 upper control arms and camber kit i love the way it handles on turns, it all depends on what the car is being used for you can do coilovers or shocks/struts also some coilovers are better for the track others are better for daily driving if i were you i would go tein SS or p,i,c coilovers
|
if you're looking to do up to a 2" inch drop there's quite a few choice to go with.
Tein S-tech Neuspeed Sport Neuspeed Race Megan eibach sportline. |
the car will be my daily driver, but performance is important because I do forsee myself visiting the track (road course) a few times per year. Coilovers would be nice, but cost is also a factor (i'm a student).
I am leaning towards a GSR swap, just need to do some serious saving. |
My tokico blue struts/springs do the job! Nice drop (around 2"), doesn't bounce at all, don't get harrased by cops as my 15" clear the fenders.. Everything's safe reliable and the performance is welllllllll worth the buck... They're fairly cheap compared to other brand names (Tein, eibach, skunk2, etc)
B18 Gsr is solid and pulls hard enough. Go with a Type R if you're thinking or selling the car later on, it's better for resale value I guess.... |
bost the ls u will be mmuch happyer then swaping for the time and money u put out
|
in the same position as OP. but i have no hope for my LS...lolz
|
I think I'm going to go for either an LS/vtec or a relatively built GSR, thanks for the input guys.
What do you mean OP ^^? |
