lower control arm bolt :(
 

okay so i got back from work and then i decided to install my coilovers,
so then i proceeded with take the two 12 mm (i think) bolts out form the brake line, and then i opened the hood and took the top two screws off holding the coil overs in place, and THEN
i was thinking omg it's easy....and then i get to the next bolt the 13 or 14 mm lower control arm bolt holding the shocks in place...and then i tried using a wrench and trying to turn it and take it out nothing,
tried using a socket..nothing
tried using socket and opposite side using wrench..nothing....

so basically this one bolt is holding me back form taking my stock shocks out,
is there any methods or tech. i can use to take this bolt out, i don't have much tools, just bunch of wrenches, sockets and stuff...i don't have air gun or nothing fancy..so is there an easy way to take this out???

the bolts are not too rusted where i can't even put the socket on and turn it...i don't have wd-40 but i tried using breake fluid..and still nothing...
so is there a easy way for me to do this? any recommended tool i should get????
should i get a torque wrench??

this is for the front side i haven't seen the rear yet...

if u got the nut off that bolt use a hammer and knock that bolt out of the hole. find a punch or something a little smaller than the hole so you can punch the bolt out.

and are you using the coil overs on ur stock shocks? if you are i wouldnt recommend u removing the stock springs on ur own specially without the proper equipment. the springs are compressed alot and when you take off the top hat your looking for trouble.

it will be easier to remove the bolt on the fork aswell. 14mm bolt. and after u get the lower control arm bolt off use a hammer and knoch the fork down. it will make it a whole lot easier to take out the shock and spring assembly.

torque wrench? lol
thats only for tightening not for removing bolts. :)

i'm not a mechanic lol....
and the nut on the other side is just as hard to take out...
i know to hammer it when i get that out....
also its full coil over....not using stock shocks....
i tried doing it from both sides...used an average socket and tried turning it but no luck.....
is there anything which is stronger? because at time i feel like i'm going to break the handle off lol....
and since im working with the rotors still bolted on there is hardly any room...

look at last pic....he calls it a breaker bar "Breaker Ba" which makes it easier to lossen the bolt...
where can i get that? crappytire??

nvm i got it out :).....
i used a method of using a metal stick,
so i grabed my old computer chair leg and used it and got it all out in 5 min :)....
now i just need a spring compressor lol

you can find them at princess auto in mississauga

or rent one from canadian tire for free. and for a breaker bar, just use a peice of pipe and put it over the rachet.

make sure you lube up the bolts real good before you put them back in. dont want that ---- seizing on u. or just replace your LCAs all together with some snazzy coloured ones :p

Wow, dude, all you needed was leverage!
Good luck getting the rears out if you haven't done so already. I changed springs myself last week and the rear bushings were seized (which is apparently normal for a DC2).

Rent the spring compressor from CT, doesn't cost you anything.

When I change anything I wire wheel and antiseize the bolts before reinstalling. Honestly if your gonna keep the car it is the best thing you can do. I had to pull out everythig last week and it comes out like it is supposed to.

A little effort now will save you loads of trouble down the road.
